PRAYAAS - a step to light the lamp of knowledge...

(Sakshi Rastogi)

“I couldn’t study as my parents failed to afford it...”
In our country India, there are innumerable such kids who have not attended school for some or the other reason. They are unknown to that fun and enjoyment which is priceless for us, that sharing food which mom prepared for us, getting scolded together for a small prank, going to picnic together, exchanging views, hanging around with friends, attending birthday treats and what not. That heavenly enjoyment and that feeling of safe and secure present will be indescribable.
There are some who not even have a slightest idea of what it feels to be learning together and sharing that knowledge which they are their rightful owner being the citizens of the secular country.

If we spend some time from our lives to cater to their needs, of a person to light the lamp for them and show them the way to knowledge, it should be our pleasure. We should be proud of being associated to such a pure and useful organization that has been instrumental in bringing about the significant change in the perception of some of such unlucky kids towards knowledge. Kindling in them the desire to study, to do something meaningful in their lives is what it aims.
PRAYAAS, it’s the teamwork of some people amongst us who took the initiative to work for the benefit of such kids who need a proper guidance under which they can spread their wings and learn to make a flight in this busy world, where none is bothered for the losers!

With this promising note I wanted to introduce to my batch mates, an effort which we have to carry forward, yes it’s the organization I am talking about…the ultimate example of
“Selfless help.”

The students of IIITA have been working in this since past three years and have been successful to a large extent. This requires you to give your time to the kids who come willingly to study in the KV school just besides the boy’s hostel at Jhalwa. They just need your time and whole hearted devotion so that, at least they also compete with their rich counterparts and be successful in their attempts.

Giving an hour 5 pm to 6pm in a week is sufficient for them and nothing for us. The task is to be present with a desire to make a big difference in their lives…to show them the PATH.
