FOR AKELAS

(Devesh Srivastava )

Flying Away!
And I running Behind,
To Catch U my way!!.

You're Like Chirping Of Birds,

Freshening my Heart!
As Pure as White,
Sparkling so Bright!!.

Your Lips Like Petals Of Rose
So Soft And Sweet!
You are Like Godess,
Presnet Within me!!

N Wat More To Say
You're So Cute And Nice!

That U're Just Like U
GLEAMING in my EYES........

Myth Vs Reality

(Varun Jain 72)

As the mirror unveils

The truth that it reveals
Is a paradox so intricate
Seems like it has been fabricate
Betraying the notions
Free from the shackles of emotions
The domain of which remains infinite
Unfathomable though it is but aptly petite
The threads of siblings intermingled
Interwoven to make the fabric of life
Deceptive perception guides
B'coz what we assume reality has in fact a different light
The difference is so slight
But its impact is what is might
The reality of life is myth in which we reside
And we are in search of the truth that reality hides
And when the truth is realized
What we assumed myth turns out to be reality penalized
That is the beauty of life
The reality of the myth of life

/*the background of the poem:
When we seem our image in the mirror then the image that it reveals is true as well as false. The comparison of reality and myth of life is compared here with the actual person and the image which the mirror unveils. Our image is free from all the shackles .It can take any shape any form...It is infinite and unfathomable(gotta c urself in barbers'shop where the mirror reveals u layer after layer...reflection after reflection).Myth and reality are here compared as siblings b'coz they accompany each other in every aspect of life. The deceptive perception here is termed as the decisions of life that we make which though at the instant seem to be right but in the end turn out to be a myth. This is the beauty of life...Here it means that the image that the man was visualizing is his trueself and he himself is in fact a myth...*/

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

(Taruna Gupta)

I wish you were my Valentine
Though I may not be yours,
And I may, in my ignorance,
Be speaking to closed doors.

I have no inkling of your heart,
No hint what you might say;
But when I think of you the sun
Will just not go away.

There is in you a loveliness
That makes my darkness shine,
And so I'll wait, if wait I must,
To be your Valentine.

With the valentine's day coming up....there is a change in the atmosphere....a change in the mood....
All the lovebirds have already started planning for the BIG day...and all those who are single are either gearing themselves up for getting a valentine...or else sitting in their rooms and cribbing (like me :( )...
But whatever maybe the case...this is one day which is awaited more than any festival or any other day...(except for one's birthday..at least that is the case with me)... The sale of Archies and local “phoolwalas” shoot up like a rocket... And with the latest trend in the youth of celebrating the whole previous week as Valentine's week and calling the days by names like “Kiss Day”, “Chocolate Day”, “Teddy Day” etc..has actually made people to use this to their advantage....
But one very obvious question that arises is that “Should this day be celebrated as zealously as it is and given a status which is equivalent to all our major festivals ???”
The answer varies from person to person and the reasons are also too diverse... Orthodox Indians may find it hard to accept it as it is supposed to have been taken from western culture... The parents whose sons spend their hard earned money on the gifts and flowers for their girlfriends have always been in dilemma..... Also seeing their children wasting their time with their so called “love” is a pain for them.....(Poor them....... :D )
But for all those who are actually in love (or rather they think they are ;) )...this day brings out all their feelings, emotions and sentiments in the true manner...........
And for me.....I don't think i will ever believe in true love......but then.......I always get so jealous of those couples hanging around in our campus....and i start thinking that it would have been better if I also had someone with whom I could celebrate this day.....!!!!!! :->

Everyone admits that love is wonderful and necessary, yet no one agrees on just what it is...........!!!

GALS OF B2k7

(Sakshi Rastogi)

GALS OF B2k7

We are handful of 17 girls in this big bunch of 190, not even 10%!

As one has rightly pointed out, “Quality matters and not quantity…” We all prove this to a great extent. Like CHERRIES on the pudding of B2k7, we stand apart….thanks to God for this…making us special in some ways at least.

Interaction with guys has always been an “uphill task” for some

though some find it as the most ‘easiest job’ done!

There are singers, dancers, writers and speakers,

though some are really great thinkers…!

Lets meet each individually…

Hold your breath and mind your words coz… there are the “GALS OF B2k7

Without any biasing we’ll start roll no. wise.

TARINI SUNIL: “I’ll fail” is what she says after exam and then to her surprise and everyone else’s expectations comes out with “over flying” colours… “Topper of B2k7”

Forever on phone with her mother, she is proud to be her daughter. ‘Lucknow ki tahzeeb’ and ‘hard work’ are the two words that define her.

TARUNA GUPTA: The liveliest girl of our batch, she has got a battery in her that does not need charging. Bold, smart and a great dancer, she also excels in sketching. Thinking before speaking is 'out of fashion' for her, her style is “think after you speak”. “Mobile hi sacha dost” for her...

SRUSHTI DHOPE: “Shakira…Shakira…”, “Bol naa halke-halke”, “My dil goes…” and what not! You name it and she’ll sing it. The golden voice of B2k7, she also known for her ‘hat-ke’ attitude.

AKSHERA RAI: ‘The Qatar girl’, as she was known before…has taken up the Indian counterparts really well. Known for her looks and dance, she is famous in the hostel for the line, “Kuch khane ko hai kya??”

Books and Akshera is a rare combination which exists only on the eve of exams!

AKANSHAA KHARE: Known for being a ‘female PMP member’ not only in B2k7 but also in the entire IIITA, she is also a promising dancer.

Always hooked up in books, she has a nice aesthetic sense too….have a look at her room!

ARPITA AGARWAL: A very cute yet talkative girl, she finds a special space in every room in the hostel… An English movie and novel lover, she likes hanging around with her friends.

TANVI SAHNI: ‘Engaged in gossip every minute, Tanvi is this spirit’….

Known for her stylish dresses and accessories, she is the “JUGAADU” of our batch. Gets things done somehow or the other. Mature for her age, offers advice to one and all.

POOJA JHA: The tallest amongst the girls and a great programmer, she has a nag for orkutting and dance. Studies are perfect and she enlists herself in the topper’s category.

Fun and Masti defines her as a person.

BHAVANA CHAURASIA: Forever engaged in electronics project, she is also known for her ‘bathroom singing’ abilities.

Never hesitant to ask for help and always strives to do something new.

SHRADDHA GUPTA: Either sleeping or studying… She seldom can be seen out of her room. An extremely intelligent person, she is the master in electronics principle.

DIVYA MITRA: Always ready to lend a helping hand, she possesses an admirable peace of mind which never makes her blow her temper.

Polite and cute, she is a great ‘dramebaaz’…I mean a nice actress.

SHALINI JOSHI: ‘Made in Nepal’ yet has a true Indian heart… Forever wearing pink, she is a great singer and poet. Very simple in her attire yet attractive in looks. She is known for her ‘continuously speaking’ habit.

NIHARIKA BHARADWAJ: The thinnest and tall girl from Abu Dhabi, she is the most fun loving person. She blurts out all in her head to anyone and does not fear the consequences at all!

KANCHAN PATIYAL: The ‘star-model’ of our batch, she is known as ‘chinki’. A hockey player, she is proud to be a sportsperson. Simple in her words yet effective in conveying her thoughts.

KANCHARANA HARINI: The only ‘South-Indian’, yet she adjusts well to Hindi speaking people. She has got the ‘Rapunzel’ hair and is proud to be its owner.

SHAILLEY RAJ: A great writer and a dancer too. She is straight forward when she speaks and otherwise stays shut. She is the one known for her beautiful long hair.

Lastly, myself, SAKSHI RASTOGI:

This is what some of them had to say for me...

TARUNA: "The gal with brilliant and creative mind.... her horse like laugh is famous with all of us...!! Moreover she is a sincere lit club member... (this blog proves the fact)"

ARPITA: Having the world famous devillish 'hassin' which echoes in the entire
girls' hostel, sakshi is always busy with something or the other -be it
studying, working for the literary club, writing articles, composing
poems, programming, dancing...truly a 'jill' of all trades.

TARINI: She is one of the most lively girls of the batch bringing a smile on of our faces by her trademark ‘hasin’ and always striving towards improving herself and trying to be a better person each second and lastly I know her to be a person who is scared of no one. These words do not appear in her dictionary. Her dictionary is just full of smiles and a hearty laugh.

POOJA:She is self explainable simple and straight forward person who always has the spirit to do all the things....sum of course out of her capabilities (hey just joking)....She is very helping ,a great friend and the only person (i can bet on it ) in whole IIITA to laugh so whole heartedly...

The Beauty!!

FRIENDS

(By Vinay Polisetti)
Friends in high school are forever young.
Unchanged, they're where you always will belong.
The crowd is never gone, the pleasure stays,
The music of the moment always plays,
The time remains a field of wistful grace
To which you may return from anyplace.
Of course, you may still know them later on
When you are someone else and years have run;
And you may love them dearly, and they you,
But time must make their friendship something new.
Meanwhile, flourishing within your heart
There is a whole, of which you were a part:
A group of friends, one in love and pain,
In whom your longing comes alive again.
